1st Haircut

Madison keeps growing up so fast.  I've been saying for a long time that she needed a haircut to even out her ends.  Doing this, however, is harder than just talking about it.  I kept putting it off since I wasn't mentally ready and I was so worried she would loose her curls on the end.  Todd was tired of hearing me talk about it so he had us all load in the van to get it done.  Madison didn't seem very excited about it when we arrived, even though I had tried to talk it up in the car.  She really didn't want to put on the cape or sit in the chair.  After some coaxing, a sucker, sitting on my lap AND watching Curious George on my phone, we were able to get her to sit still long enough to get it cut.  She only had about an inch cut off but it looks a lot better!

The after picture doesn't look the best, but it really does look better!  The curls aren't as prominent, but are still there.

Courage

We had a pool membership this summer because Madison loves the water so much.  She started to venture over to the big pool with daddy about half way through the season and loved it.  She had fun watching the big kids go off the diving board.  She even got up there a few times and I would help her go off by lowering her down to Todd.  Well, on the last weekend of the pool, she decided she was ready to give it a try by herself.  She waited her turn, gathered some courage and went off by herself!

Everyone at the pool was so happy for her and cheered.  I think she felt like such a big kid!

4 Months

Kaden is a wonderful, happy baby that we are so blessed to have in our family.  He is very laid back and loves to smile and laugh.  This month he learned to roll over: front to back and back to front.  He doesn't have any interest to stand yet.  He has also found his feet which he loves to play with.  He doesn't take a paci but sucks on his hands a lot.  Kaden reaches for his toys or your face.  He enjoys going for walks and being with people.
Madison is starting to pay a little more attention to him and shows him love.  She does nice things for him without prompting like bring him a blanket.
We had a fun summer and Kaden was able to enjoy the pool some.
