8 Months

Madison is at such a fun age!  She is learning so much each day and her personality is becoming more evident.  She is not crawling yet, but will be soon.  Time to childproof the house!  She has started to move backwards and in circles.  She tries very hard to go forward and rocks onto her knees a little.

Madison is starting to eat more solid foods.  She loves her puffs and likes most of the food we give her, even if her face doesn't show it after the first bite of something new.

I'm starting to teach Madison sign language for a few simple words like more, please, all done, up.  I'm sure it will take a little time for her to catch on but I think it will be helpful when she learns.

All day I hear "Hi", "Hey", and "Dada".  I'm not sure that she understands what she is saying but it is fun; her dad thinks she understands it though.  Madison's favorite part of the day is when her daddy comes home from work!

We took Madison to her first basketball game at Rupp.  It was a UK women's game against Duke.  Madison wasn't a fan of the loud noise so we left at half time.

A few factsWeight - Oops, didn't weigh her!  My guess is around 19 lbs.
Diaper Size - 3
Clothing Size - 9 Month or 12 Month, depending on brand
Sleeping - Bed around 8 pm and she sleeps until around 8 am.  She may wake once during this time if I don't dream feed her.

Christmas 2011

This year Christmas started for us on Christmas Eve eve with a wonderful church service.  Then on Christmas eve we went to Corbin to spend time with Todd's parents.  We first visited with Todd's dad where Madison got to show off how much she has grown since he last saw her.

Then we went to see Todd's mom where she cooked us a wonderful meal and Madison opened many generous gifts from Grammy.  She had a wonderful time!

Christmas morning we all slept in and then Madison opened just a few gifts from mom and dad.

We took the advice from our church and did an act of service on Christmas day to show God's love.  We decided to bake cookies for the international students still on campus.  We hope to do some act of service each year.  We are always so blessed each Christmas and are thankful for all we have but most of all for God sending us his son!!

Overall we had a great Christmas and loved watching Madison experience her first!

Annie Oakley

Over Christmas break we watched a friend's dog named Annie Oakley.  Madison loved her and Annie seemed to like Madison!  Annie was so gentle and patient.
I can tell Madison is going to be a dog lover just like her mom :)
