4 Months

Kaden is a wonderful, happy baby that we are so blessed to have in our family.  He is very laid back and loves to smile and laugh.  This month he learned to roll over: front to back and back to front.  He doesn't have any interest to stand yet.  He has also found his feet which he loves to play with.  He doesn't take a paci but sucks on his hands a lot.  Kaden reaches for his toys or your face.  He enjoys going for walks and being with people.
Madison is starting to pay a little more attention to him and shows him love.  She does nice things for him without prompting like bring him a blanket.
We had a fun summer and Kaden was able to enjoy the pool some.

Pure Michigan

We were able to take a short trip up to West Michigan and spend time with my family.  It was really great because my brother's family was there too so we all enjoyed time together.  I love Michigan in the summer and it makes me miss it.
We took Madison to the beach.  She didn't like the sand at first but once Christopher showed her how fun it can be she started to have fun.  Aaron, Todd, Christopher and Madison all went in Lake Michigan.  It was freezing - 58!  Shawna and I were smart and stayed on the beach.  I had to drag my shivering child out to warm up.
Madison was able to experience boating and tubing for the first time.  She loved it!  She must be my daughter.
Christopher went fishing and caught a few really big fish.  He was so excited.
The trip went way too fast, but we had a wonderful time and look forward to next summer.

3 Months

 
These 3 months have gone by very quickly.  My newborn is disappearing and turning into a big boy so fast!  He has started trying to roll over.  I will not be in a hurry for him to become mobile like I did with Madison.  I like that he stays where I put him ;)
Madison has been very sweet with him and will cover him up with his blanket or give him his paci.  She will rock him in his bouncy seat when he starts to cry.
Kaden isn't a big fan of his paci but likes to suck on his fists.
He is always very happy in the morning and loves to 'talk' with me for a while before Madison wakes up.

Forever Friends!

My best friend, Angie, and her husband, Josh, came down to visit for a few days on their way to Tennessee.  We always have a great time with Angie and Josh and wish we could see them more often.  We were able to hike at Natural Bridge State Park in Slade, KY.  It was a beautiful day and the kids did really well.  Josh was a trooper and helped Madison down most of the mountain.
We also went to the pool for a few hours and had a blast.  Normally we are really sad when they leave but this time we were going to be seeing them in Michigan in just a few days.  We were actually able to caravan up to Michigan with them since they were headed home the same day!  Thanks for the visit, Angie & Josh!

Bluegrass Fair

The heat finally came to Kentucky this week.  It also happened to be the week of our county fair.  We decided to brave the weather and went with some friends.  Madison wasn't technically tall enough for the rides but they still let her on many of them.  She had a blast even though you can't always tell from the pictures.

4th of July

Our 4th of July was wet and cold this year.  A big change from the 99 degrees last year.  We spent most of the day inside and kept things low key.  We ventured out in the evening for dinner and then to watch the fireworks.  We decided to stay dry and found a good spot in a parking garage on UK's campus.  Our friends, Amanda, Chris and Alex, joined us for the fun.  It was Alex's 2nd birthday so it was a special day for him.  Below is a picture of Madison and Alex.  Alex really liked her hair and was playing with it.  Madison doesn't look impressed by his "moves".

Month 2

Kaden turned 2 months on July 2.  He has fit right into our little family very well and brings us so much joy.  Madison is very helpful and will get diapers or pull over the car seat to put Kaden in when we are about to go somewhere.  I think she is worried I'll forget him.   
I was able to try out this two kids stuff while Todd went to Texas for work for a few days.  Aunt Shawna and Christopher came for a visit making it much more manageable.  We were glad when daddy came home.

We've been enjoying the pool this summer a lot.  Kaden normally relaxes in his stroller while the rest of us swim. 
We traveled to Corbin for Father's day and spent a few hours with Todd's dad.  He enjoyed cuddling Kaden while we were there.
We had a baby dedication at our church.  It was a very nice service for all the new babies born or adopted.  Todd's mom was able to attend which was very nice.
