7 Months

Time continues to fly here in the Cox household.  Madison is 7 months old and we have been experiencing a lot of fun firsts.  We are especially excited for her first Christmas in a few weeks!

She is now very skilled at sitting up, which she loves.  When she is laying down she tries so hard to sit up.  She probably has some great abs!  She also wants to grab everything as you can see with the 7 month candle in the picture above :)  We are still waiting on teeth!

A friend and mentor of Todd's sent us this cute Pi Kappa Phi teddy bear.  Thanks Kim!

When Grandpa was here, he took a very cute picture of Madison when she was on a walk.

A few facts
Weight - 18 pounds
Diaper Size - 3
Clothing Size - 9 Month
Sleeping - Sleep has been a little off since we went on our trip to SC and then Madison got a bad cold.  Prior to the trip she was sleeping up to 12 hours.  Now it's between 5-8 hours and I have to go in and comfort her.  Let's hope this goes back to 12 soon!

Thanksgiving

We are very thankfully this year for Madison!  She is such a joy and we can't express how blessed we feel to be her Mom and Dad.  God is Good!

This year we were invited down to Charleston, SC to spend time with my brother's family.  Originally we thought we were going to be visiting only my sister-in-law and nephew, but my brother was able to join us as well!  My parents also made the trip down and we spent a week together in the great weather.  Lexus came so even the dogs enjoyed each other.

We visited a live oak tree called the Angel Oak.  It is estimated to be 1,500 years old.  It was very cool! You can check it out here: http://www.angeloaktree.org/

We also visited Magnolia Plantation and Gardens.  Even though it was fall, it was very pretty. I'm sure it would be gorgeous in the summer.   There was a petting zoo there for the kids.  We took Madison and Christopher in to see the animals.  A sign said to watch young children around the goats since they could bite so I didn't take Madison near them.  However, it didn't warn you about the turkeys.  One came up behind me and bit Madison's toe!!  Thankfully there were just a few tears and no damage done.  We got back at the turkey population later in the week ;)

Shawna hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner!  Before we left, we all went downtown and took a carriage ride.  Then Aaron, Shawna, Todd and I went out to eat while my parents watched the kids.  It was a fun trip!   It was great to spend the holiday with family.

We stopped in Corbin on the way back and Todd's mom made us a wonderful meal.  We enjoyed the food and company.

After we got home, we put up our Christmas decorations.  We are looking forward to Madison's first Christmas!  Notice her awesome sitting up skills :)
